What are the formatting limitations during import?
  • Excel

    • Questions and responses must be on the same row [line].
    • Questions and responses can’t be in the same cell.
    • If text is already in a response cell in the original document, it won’t be displayed in the proposal outline but will be displayed in the export.
    • Help text for a question has a 300-character limit.
    • If a spreadsheet has too much “dead space” around a table, the document becomes too large to import.
    • Locked documents can cause issues that we’re actively investigating.
    • Certain images cause errors during import or export. If you remove the images in the original document, the import works properly. If you are unsure about an image, run a test or send it to us to test.
    • The import feature does not support the .XLS format.
    • You are unable to map images in cells to questions.
    • Merged Cells will not be identified by our Importer tool.
  • Word

    • You are unable to import checkboxes or multiple-choice items like this:
1.png
    • You are unable to include more than one response if it is not in a table.
    • Sub-questions are not supported.
    • Questions that prompt other questions based on responses are not supported.
    • The import feature does not support the .DOC format.
    • We suggest converting all PDFs to Word prior to import, because PDFs with line breaks may merge questions.
    • In Word tables, questions must be in a column.
    • You are unable to map instructions.
